One In a Million!
Friendship, food, culture, sport, travel, party, dance...
We had an amazing start of our training course "ActivatE+U" in Varbovo, Bulgaria. 25 youth workers from Bulgaria Serbia North Macedonia Turkey and Romania will be trained within one week how to stimulate young people to be active citizens and be aware of democratic rights, processes and EU institutions. The project is implemented within the framework of ErasmusPlus programme.
We started the day with yoga and energiser. Then we continued with the activities in the program. The hotel we stayed in was in a very beautiful place in the middle of nature. On the first day, everyone became a secret friend of everyone. The task of secret friends was to leave a gift or nice notes for his friend. I bonded with everyone. Everyone was so sweet and we even made plans for further dates with a few of them.
As the photos show, the fun and food never ends. We tried the traditional dishes of five different countries, watched their dances, and learned a few words from their language. I have made friendships that I believe will be permanent for me.
We visited to the mayor of Chuprene Municipality Anzhelo Dobrichov. We learned more about the local realities and challenges as well as current and future projects for improving the life standard of the people.
Then we visited the office of EUROPE DIRECT Vidin. We got acquainted with the main activities of the local representative office and the Initiatives they organize in order to provide information about EU institutions, EU programs, and opportunities.
There was additional time to learn more about the local historical and cultural places.
Speaking of experiences, it felt great to go up on the rocks and be at that height. On the one hand, this place reminded me of Fairy Chimneys in Turkey. Then I can say that we dived from the sky to the ground. We visited an extremely cold cave and I froze. Another trip we had was to visit the region where the river border between Romania and Bulgaria is located. I had a very enjoyable time.
I had an experience that will stay with me for a lifetime this week with people who were literally strangers to me. I hope to see them again. This one week inspired me to attend such events. Besides learning many new things, I also developed my leadership qualities.
We will meet again.
Thank you for taking the time to read this far.
